Size Guide - American Football Helmets

A properly fitted helmet is essential to ensure comfort, stability and protection on the pitch.

How to choose the right size?

The helmet is one of the most important pieces of equipment in American football. To be effective, it must be perfectly adapted to the morphology of your head. An undersized helmet can reduce the comfort of the game and compromise its good support.

Once properly adjusted, the helmet should stay securely in place when you move your head. It should not slide toward the eyes, put excessive pressure on the forehead, or rotate from left to right.

Sportland American Consulting

The measurement of the head circumference is the best basis for choosing your helmet. Always take your measurement before ordering to limit the risk of size errors.

How to measure your head circumference?

1️⃣ Bring a tape measure

Use a flexible tailor's tape measure. If you don't have one, a string will also do the trick: then just measure it with a ruler.

2️⃣ Measure your head correctly

Run the tape measure around your head, positioning it about 2 cm above the eyebrows and just above the ears, passing through the widest part of the skull.

3️⃣ Write down your head circumference

Take the measurement in centimeters without tightening the tape too much. This value will be used as a reference for the manufacturer's size guide.

⚠️ Important

Sizes can vary from brand to brand, and sometimes even from helmet model to helmet. The inner foams, the support system and the shape of the shell also influence the feeling once the helmet is worn.

Always consult the size chart associated with the model you are interested in in order to choose the most suitable size.
